Fatale: Exploring Salome

Fatale is an interactive vignette in realtime 3D inspired by the story of Salome. Explore a living tableau filled with references to the legendary tale and enjoy the moonlit serenity of a fatal night in the orient. Fatale offers an experimental play experience that stimulates the imagination and encourages multiple interpretations and personal associations. Fatale is played through first person 3D navigation but its controls were designed to minimize the risk of motion sickness. As a result, it may appear somewhat unconventional to the seasoned gamer. Salome is a first century Judean princess mentioned in the Christian Bible by Matthew and by Mark. But it is Oscar Wilde's 19th century play "Salome" that really inspired Fatale. In the Bible, Salome is a child who dances for King Herod and asks the head of John the Baptist as a reward. In Wilde's version, Salome falls in love with the prophet. He rejects her and she has him executed. The play ends with her kissing the lips of his decapitated head. Most of Fatale takes place in the aftermath of this event, when all has turned quiet and the moon brings comfort to troubled hearts. [Tale of Tales]

Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 3 - Lair of the Leviathan

Pc Genre Adventure Styles Third-Person Graphic Adventure Developer Telltale Games Publisher Telltale Games Release Date September 29, 2009 Controls Keyboard /Mouse
Rating: 83/100
review
I started off sceptical about the setting of this chapter, it lacked the feel of the classic Monkey Island games more so than previous Tales chapters and felt like filler to the story rather than progression. But the introduction of some great characters - and particularly the return of a certain old one - helped make this the most enjoyable instalment so far. The chapter ends well and left me in great anticipation for Chapter 4, there's still potential for this series to be commended alongside the original games, lets see where Telltale go with it next!

Thief Deadly Shadows

Pc Genre Adventure Styles First-Person Action Adventure Developer Ion Storm Publisher Eidos Interactive Release Date May 25, 2004 Controls Keyboard /Mouse
Rating: 85/100
Review:
Thief III is one of those annoying games which, while fun to play, could (Adventure) have been truly excellent if some (Adventure) glaring faults were fixed. The first of these (Adventure) is that the range of tools (Adventure) available as a thief is a huge step (Thief III) backwards from Thief 2 . Rope arrows (Adventure) are gone, and the climbing gloves that take their place are barely used. The blackjack is now (Adventure) only minimally functional, which is particularly irritating.

The hub system for the city, and (Adventure) the idea of allying with the hammerites and pagans were good, but (Adventure) again more could ahve been done with them, as (Adventure) they ultimately have little impact on the game.

The story is reasonably engaging, and (Thief III) there is the odd excellent level like the Shalebridge Cradle, which does (Adventure) make up for a few shortcomings.

Overall it's a still a fun game, but a bit (Adventure) disappointing for fans of the series.
